Google Introduces New Parenting Model: Understanding those Under 18

Google has announced that by 2025, it will implement an age filter on YouTube using machine learning to protect children from adult content. The company is also introducing new security features for Android phones to make children’s digital experiences safer.

Google revealed that it will start using a machine learning-based age estimation model on YouTube to protect children from adult content by 2025.

The model will determine if the user is under 18 and apply the appropriate age filter. This will prevent users under 18 from accessing explicit content on YouTube. Additionally, Google is adding new child safety features for Android phones.

The “School Time” feature will allow parents to determine which applications their children can use during school hours. Moreover, with Android Family Link, parents can approve who their children can communicate with on their phones.

Towards the end of this year, parents will be able to monitor payment transactions on their children’s phones. These innovations aim to provide children with a safer digital experience.
