After 21 years, Güler Sabancı, the Chairperson of Sabancı Holding, is leaving her position. Hayri Çulhacı is expected to take over from Güler Sabancı. Güler Sabancı will step down from her position as Chairperson of Sabancı Holding at the ordinary general assembly on March 27. In 2004, Güler Sabancı was appointed Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Sabancı Holding A.Ş. following Sakıp Sabancı. According to a statement from the Holding, Güler Sabancı will continue to fulfill her duties as the Chair of the Board of Trustees of Sabancı Foundation, Chair of the Founder Board of Trustees of Sabancı University, and Chair of the Board of Directors of Sakıp Sabancı Museum. THE NEW BOARD CHAIRMAN IS ANNOUNCED The new Board of Directors of Sabancı Holding will be elected at the general assembly on March 27. As part of the distribution of duties for the new board, it is planned to propose Hayri Çulhacı, who currently serves as a Board Member, as the new Chairperson. “SABANCI IS READY FOR A NEW ERA” In a statement, Güler Sabancı expressed her views, stating that their group is ready for a new era with its strong financial structure, culture open to innovation and technology, superior human resources, leading management systems in institutionalization, and business ethics. Sabancı expressed gratitude to all the elders who have passed away, especially Sakıp Sabancı, for their 47 years of working life, stressing, “After 21 years as Chairperson, together with our Board of Directors, management team, and colleagues at Sabancı, we have brought our group to an important level in our country and abroad, successfully completed many tasks, and represented the reputation of our group deservedly, I step down from the position of Chairperson of Sabancı Holding Board of Directors with the inner peace given by having fulfilled it.” WHO IS HAYRI ÇULHACI? Hayri Çulhacı, who has been with Sabancı Group for 35 years, has served as a member of the Executive Board at Sabancı Holding, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors at Akbank, and Member of the Board of Directors at Sabancı Holding and its subsidiaries.
