Gun Attack at a University in the USA: 2 Dead, 5 Injured

In the United States, gunshots were heard from the campus of Florida State University, where tens of thousands of students are enrolled. The number of casualties in the incident has risen to 2 while the 20-year-old son of a sheriff’s deputy has been taken into custody as a suspect.

According to initial findings, one person has been reported dead and at least 5 injured in the armed attack at Florida State University in the USA.

Officials announced that a suspect connected to the attack has been apprehended. Numerous police officers and ambulances were dispatched to the scene, with students and staff evacuated.

It was reported that there were 42,000 students on campus at the time of the incident.

SHERIFF DEPUTY’S SON IN CUSTODY Sheriff of Leon County, Walt McNeil, and officer Jason Trumbower shared details about the attack at a press conference they held.

McNeil stated that the 20-year-old son of the sheriff’s deputy, Phoenix Ikner, had been arrested, revealing that the suspect used his mother’s gun to carry out the attack. Trumbower also mentioned that the number of fatalities in the attack had risen to 2, and these individuals were not students. Officials noted that the 6 injured individuals were still receiving treatment in the hospital.

FIRST STATEMENT FROM TRUMP During his meeting with Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni, US President Donald Trump referred to the attack as a “terrible incident.”

NUMEROUS GUNSHOTS HEARD Witnesses reported hearing between 15 to 20 gunshots. One witness mentioned seeing a young man coming out of the university’s Student Union building with a gun, causing those nearby to flee in panic, with many students seeking refuge in a nearby church.
