The Izzeddin al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, confirmed that one of their commanders, Hasan Ahmed Ferhat, along with his family, lost their lives in an Israeli airstrike in the city of Sidon, Lebanon.

In an Israeli airstrike in Sidon, Lebanon, Hamas commander Hasan Ahmed Ferhat and his family were killed.

The al-Qassam Brigades described the attack as a “cowardly assassination” and stated that the resistance will continue. According to a statement from the al-Qassam Brigades, “Hasan Ahmed Ferhat Abu Yasir, his daughter Canan Ferhat, and his son Hamza Ferhat were martyred as a result of a despicable assassination carried out by Israel at their home in Sidon, Lebanon.” The statement emphasized that “These cowardly assassination policies against our mujahideen in Palestinian territories and abroad will never break our determination on the path of jihad and resistance.” In the morning hours, the Israeli army carried out an airstrike on a house in the southern city of Sidon, Lebanon, where 3 members of the same family lost their lives. The Israeli army had previously announced that Hamas commander Hasan Ahmed Ferhat was killed in the said attack.
