Hamas Delegation in Cairo to Discuss Implementation of Ceasefire

Hamas, which postponed a prisoner exchange due to Israel’s violation of the ceasefire, has gone to Egypt to meet with mediators. According to a statement from Hamas, a delegation led by Chief Negotiator Halil el-Hayya has arrived in Cairo, the capital of Egypt, to discuss the implementation of the agreement. It was reported that talks between the delegation and Egyptian mediators have commenced. Hamas announced on Monday that it had suspended the release of prisoners being held in Gaza due to Israel’s violation of the ceasefire, which came into effect on January 19. The Palestinian group cited the delay in the return of displaced individuals from various areas in Gaza and the refusal to allow all agreed-upon aid to enter as reasons for their decision.
