Hamas: “We Will Release Hostages at Once if Israel Withdraws from Gaza”

Hamas, as part of the ceasefire negotiations mediated by Egypt with Israel, stated that they are ready to “hand over all prisoners at once if Israel withdraws from Gaza.”

Egypt received Israel’s proposal for a temporary ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and initiated negotiations for a permanent ceasefire based on this proposal.

Egyptian sources indicated that the proposal was conveyed to Hamas, and Egypt expected a response from Hamas as soon as possible. According to Reuters, sources speaking to the state-affiliated Al-Qahera News did not provide details about the proposal but stated that this step could pave the way for a lasting period of ceasefire. HAMAS’ CONDITION FOR GAZA

A Hamas official claimed that Israel’s new offer did not involve a “complete ceasefire” but only aimed to retrieve Israeli hostages. The same official stated, “If Israel ends the war and completely withdraws from Gaza, we are ready to hand over our hostages at once.” The progress of the negotiations is crucial for ending the conflicts in the region. Egypt is acting as a mediator in diplomatic efforts by maintaining communication with both Israel and Hamas.

After the ceasefire that took effect on January 19 in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army resumed intense attacks on the morning of March 18. Israel, which broke the ceasefire, announced that it would act against Hamas with “increasing military force” as it rejected new ceasefire proposals. Since the resumption of Israeli army attacks, 1563 Palestinians, mostly elderly, women, and children, lost their lives, and 4,004 people were injured.
