Have Nvidia Chips Been Smuggled? New Allegation Regarding China

It is alleged that China obtained Nvidia chips through illicit means. Following an operation in Singapore, it was claimed that the banned chips were sourced through Malaysia.
Singapore is investigating whether Dell and Super Micro servers sent to Malaysia contain prohibited Nvidia chips. Several individuals were arrested by the police in the country for violating US sanctions by trading Nvidia chips. Singapore’s Minister of Law Kasiviswanathan Shanmugam stated that there are allegations that the addresses where the products sent to Malaysia were supposed to go were wrongly provided to suppliers. Shanmugam mentioned that authorities are looking into whether servers manufactured by Dell and Super Micro actually went to other countries.
Minister Shanmugam also said that Singapore has requested more information from Malaysia and the US to determine the final destination of the servers. He noted, “There is a question of whether Malaysia was the final stop or whether it went elsewhere from Malaysia, we do not know that conclusively at this point.”
US Pursues DEEPSEEK Chips! The US has started investigating whether DeepSeek’s Nvidia AI GPUs were smuggled through Singapore. Nvidia collaborates with Dell, Super Micro, and Hewlett Packard for servers hosting artificial intelligence chips.
These companies sell the servers directly or through intermediaries to data center operators worldwide. Washington has been trying to prevent China from circumventing technology restrictions through third countries for many years.
Singapore did not directly link the case to DeepSeek or any Chinese buyer as the investigation is still ongoing.
