Heavy Rainfall in India and Nepal: Over 100 People Died

In the past two days, over 100 people have lost their lives due to heavy rainfall in India and Nepal. According to reports in the region’s media, South Asian countries India and Nepal have been experiencing heavy rains beyond the seasonal norms. In India’s Bihar state, 82 people lost their lives due to the rain, while in the country’s most populous state of Uttar Pradesh, 18 people died as a result of lightning and storms. In Nepal, 8 people died due to lightning strikes and heavy rainfall. Weather forecasts in the Indian media predict more rainfall in the region in the coming days.
