Hizbullah Condemns US and UK Attacks on Yemen

Hizbullah condemned the airstrikes by the US and UK targeting regions controlled by Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen. The statements highlighted that the attacks resulted in the death and injury of innocent civilians, indicating that Yemen was targeted for supporting the Palestinian people.
In a written statement by Hizbullah, attention was drawn to the aerial bombings of residential neighborhoods in Yemen’s capital Sana and other cities by the US and UK. The statement mentioned the casualties of innocent civilians in these attacks, pointing out that Yemen was under assault for supporting the Palestinian people and pressuring for the lifting of the blockade on the Gaza Strip. The statement stated that the attacks on Yemen constituted a clear violation of international law, accusing the US administration of revealing its true face by bombing civilians and vital institutions in Yemen. The statement also criticized the US for resorting to terror and bullying against communities opposing its arrogant policies in the region and globally.
The statement also emphasized that the attacks on Lebanon and Syria, in addition to the Gaza Strip, were made possible by US support.
WHAT HAPPENED? President Donald Trump announced on his Truth Social platform account that he had given instructions for a “major attack” on the Houthi rebels in Yemen. The Iran-backed Houthis reported that in the airstrikes on Sana and the northern city of Sada by the US and UK, 31 people, mostly women and children, were killed, and 101 others were injured. On March 7, the Houthis stated that they had given Israel a 4-day ultimatum to allow the entry of aid into Gaza, threatening to resume naval operations against Israel if the demands were not met.
