The answer to the questions of thousands of citizens waiting for an increase in retirement bonuses came from the Minister of Labor and Social Security, Vedat Işıkhan. With economic conditions and inflation in mind, an increase in bonuses is expected, leaving the government’s actions in question. While citizens expecting a change in the retirement bonus amount still have question marks, the first official statement has been made. Minister of Labor and Social Security, Vedat Işıkhan, announced that they will work on the holiday bonus for retirees. Expectations are for the bonuses to be raised to a range of 4,500 to 5,000 liras. Retired individuals receiving pension from the Social Security Institution (SGK), elderly pension, duty disability pension, disability pension, death pension, as well as those receiving continuous incapacity income and death income, martyrs’ relatives, veterans, combat veterans, security guards, champion athletes, civilians affected by terrorism, and their beneficiaries will receive holiday bonuses.
