How “super bacteria” evolved? Scientists solved it in 2 days with artificial intelligence in 10 years

The artificial intelligence tool called “co-scientist”, released by Google, reportedly solved the bacterial issue, which microbiologists had been researching for 10 years, in just two days.

According to BBC, Professor Jose Penades and his team from the Imperial College London School of Medicine had been investigating how some bacteria, known as antibiotic-resistant “super bacteria”, evolved over a decade. Penades mentioned that their research led them to the idea that “super bacteria” created a tail from different viruses, allowing them to spread among organisms. He stated that the idea was unique to their research team and had not been published openly, and they turned to Google’s artificial intelligence tool “co-scientist” for guidance, which led them to this conclusion in just two days. Penades emailed Google to inquire about accessing his personal computer, but received a negative response.

INTRODUCING NEW IDEAS
Penades emphasized that the artificial intelligence tool not only mimicked their research but also presented an idea they had not considered before, which they had started working on.

“I FEEL IT WILL CHANGE SCIENCE”
Penades noted that people initially approached artificial intelligence with “fear”, but then realized they had a very powerful tool in their hands. He commented, “I feel it will definitely change the field of science.”
