Husilers: 61 Civilians Killed in US Attacks

The Iran-backed Husilers in Yemen announced that 61 civilians were killed and 139 others were injured in the attacks launched by the US on March 15. The statement from the Health Ministry affiliated with the Husilers stated, “Since March 15, the US attacks on Yemen have resulted in 61 civilian deaths and 139 injuries.” It was reported that from the date the Husilers began their attacks in the Red Sea to show support for Gaza until April 1, 2025, 250 people have died and 714 have been injured in attacks on Yemen. No information was provided about military losses. The Iran-backed Husilers began seizing commercial ships linked to Israeli companies in Yemeni waters on October 31, 2023, in response to Israeli attacks in Gaza. They also started attacks with unmanned aerial vehicles and missiles on some of these ships. The US announced on December 18, 2023, the formation of a multinational “marine task force” called the “Welfare Guardian Operation” due to the threat posed to global maritime trade. US President Donald Trump had announced on March 15 that he had given the order to the military to launch a “major attack” against the Husilers in Yemen. Husilers’ leader Abdulmelik al-Husi had warned that US planes and warships will be targeted by the Husilers, indicating that maritime disruptions will also affect Washington as long as the attacks persist.
