Identity of Deceased Woman Revealed 60 Years Later

The identity of a woman who died in the US in 1966 has been determined through DNA analysis. Found at a cliff and known as “Marin County Jane Doe,” the woman’s identity was identified after 60 years.
Located at a cliff in Tiburon, California, the woman known as “Marin County Jane Doe” was identified using DNA technology.
The woman was identified as Dorothy Jean Vaillancourt from Tasmania. Sheriff’s Office Spokesperson Adam Schermerhorn stated, “This technology didn’t exist 20 years ago. Thanks to genetic databases, we can now solve cold cases.”
Authorities leading the investigation emphasized that they have been working on cases with unidentified identities for years, and such technological advancements play a crucial role in providing answers to families of missing persons.
