Increase in Egg Prices

Egg prices have risen between 6 to 10 cents in Kayseri and Afyon, which are important egg production centers in Turkey. According to a report on Ekonomim, last week, the prices of double-yolked, old mother, and new mother eggs increased. Prices for chick, poultry, and guide eggs remained unchanged. In Afyon’s Başmakçı district last week, the price of a double-yolked egg rose from 4 lira 60 kuruş to 4 lira 70 kuruş. The price for an old mother egg, which was 4 lira 55 kuruş, increased to 4 lira 65 kuruş, while a new mother egg rose from 4 lira 40 kuruş to 4 lira 50 kuruş per egg. In Kayseri, the price of a double-yolked egg, previously 4 lira 50 kuruş, is now 4 lira 58 kuruş, and the price for an old mother egg, formerly 4 lira 43 kuruş, is now 4 lira 51 kuruş.
