The Ministry of Trade announced export data for cities with activities in January compared to the same month of the previous year. Istanbul was the province with the highest export last month with 4 billion 854 million dollars. The city’s export increased by 12.7% compared to the same month last year. Following Istanbul, Kocaeli with 2 billion 655 million dollars and an 8.5% increase, and Izmir with 2 billion 9 million dollars and a 2.5% rise. The sector with the highest external sales in Kocaeli was motor vehicles with 1 billion 24 million 85 thousand dollars. In Izmir, mineral fuels and oils were at the top with 589 million 560 thousand dollars in exports. Among the most exported countries were the United Arab Emirates, Germany, and the United States for Istanbul, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Slovenia for Kocaeli, and Germany, the United States, and Slovenia for Izmir. In summary, in January, 4 provinces conducted exports exceeding 1 billion dollars, while 42 provinces saw an increase in their exports.
