Inspection carried out in thousands of workplaces: 920 million lira fines imposed

The Minister of Labor and Social Security, Vedat Işıkhan, announced that in 2024, 920 million lira in fines were imposed during workplace inspections. Minister Işıkhan shared the results of inspections conducted in workplaces in 2024. In a statement on his social media account, Minister Işıkhan stated, “We carry out our inspection duties in workplaces with sensitivity. In 2024, we conducted inspection activities with 900 labor inspectors through our Guidance and Inspection Directorate. We reached 2 million employees in over 12 thousand workplaces. We ensured the payment of 1.8 billion lira in workers’ receivables and 710 million lira in public receivables. We imposed administrative fines totaling 920 million lira on workplaces that did not rectify non-compliance with regulations. We made the decision to halt operations in 179 workplaces to prevent life-threatening situations for employees.”
