Investigation on Information Leak at the Pentagon: Private Secretary placed on mandatory leave

Within the US Department of Defense (Pentagon), Deputy Secretary Steve Feinberg’s private secretary, Colin Carroll, has been placed on mandatory administrative leave as part of an investigation into information leakage. According to sources from the Pentagon speaking to CNN, Deputy Secretary Steve Feinberg’s private secretary, Colin Carroll, left the ministry building accompanied by a security team. Sources indicated that Carroll’s mandatory administrative leave is related to disputes with Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth’s Chief of Staff Joe Kasper in connection with recent leaks from the Pentagon, characterizing it as a “purge of individuals in conflict with the management.” Carroll became the third person to be placed on mandatory administrative leave from the Pentagon within the past week. Earlier this week, it was reported that Hegseth’s senior advisors Dan Caldwell and Deputy Chief of Staff Darin Selnick were also placed on mandatory administrative leave as part of an investigation into allegations of information leaks. On March 23, Hegseth’s Chief of Staff Joe Kasper announced that a comprehensive investigation would be conducted regarding recent “unauthorized disclosures” from the agency, noting that a “lie detector” would also be used in the investigations according to the law. Kasper also stated that those found to have exceeded their authority in disclosures would be subject to criminal prosecution.
