Machine and Chemical Industry will make a 2 billion lira defense industry investment in Samsun. It was reported that Machine and Chemical Industry Corporation (MKE) will invest 2 billion lira in the defense industry in Samsun. MKE’s General Manager, Ilhami Keleş, and Deputy General Manager, Irfan Özsert, visited Samsun Governor Orhan Tavlı in his office. Keleş mentioned that MKE has started the establishment process of a factory in the old Çarşamba Sugar Factory, where they will produce defense industry products with a 2 billion lira investment. Governor Tavlı expressed that MKE produces strategic products needed by the Turkish Armed Forces with domestic capabilities. Tavlı expressed his satisfaction with the start of the establishment of MKE’s Çarşamba Production Campus, stating that “This significant investment by MKE, which continues its activities with the strength derived from its history and national duty awareness to enhance our independence and enable us to move forward more strongly to the future, will strengthen Samsun’s power, which contributes significant contributions to the Turkey Century with its developing industry, growing economy, young and talented workforce, investment, production, employment, and export-oriented growth strategy. The MKE investment will give a great impulse to Samsun Century.”
