Iran announced that the German Ambassador in Tehran and the Charge d’Affaires of the British embassy in Tehran have been summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Iran summoned the representatives of Germany and the UK in Tehran to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs over the draft resolution presented against Iran by these countries at the United Nations Human Rights Council. According to Iran’s state television news, Furuzende Vedieti, the Director General of Women’s Affairs and Human Rights at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, conveyed Iran’s objections to the European diplomats summoned to the ministry, condemning their misuse of human rights to put pressure on the people of Iran. Vedieti reportedly reminded the German and British diplomats of their support for Israel, which commits genocide and war crimes in Gaza, stating that they are not in a position to defend human rights.
