Iraq returns 43 Iranian prisoners

Iranian Deputy Minister of Justice Celalian stated, “43 Iranian prisoners convicted of various crimes were returned to the country to serve the rest of their sentences in prisons in their places of residence.” Iran announced that 43 Iranians convicted in Iraq for various crimes have been returned to the country. According to the Iranian state news agency IRNA, Deputy Minister of Justice Asker Celalian made statements regarding the matter. Celalian said, “In line with the implementation of the agreement on the transfer of prisoners between Iran and Iraq, 43 Iranian prisoners in Iraqi prisons were transferred to the country to complete their remaining sentences in prisons in their places of residence.” Iranian officials had previously announced on February 26 that 130 Iranian prisoners had been transferred to the country.
