Is chip giant Intel facing a split? Major companies taking action

Reports indicate that leading chip manufacturer Intel is facing the risk of a split. It has been reported that Broadcom and TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company) are making moves to acquire certain divisions of Intel. Broadcom is said to be interested in taking over Intel’s chip design and marketing division.

On the other hand, TSMC is planning to collaborate with an investor consortium to take control of all or part of Intel’s production facilities. The discussions between Broadcom and TSMC are currently in the preliminary stages, with no official agreement reached yet. It is also noted that the companies are acting independently. Will the TRUMP ADMINISTRATION APPROVE?

In the event of Intel splitting up, the possibility of foreign control over chip production facilities in the US is being viewed as a national security risk by the Trump administration. It is stated that the Trump administration will not support the possibility of Intel factories falling into the hands of a foreign company.
