Israel Strikes UN Center in Gaza: Foreign Worker Killed

A foreign worker was killed and five others were seriously injured as Israel bombed a United Nations center in Gaza.
Reports indicate that a civilian defense personnel lost their life when Israel targeted a house in the southern city of Gaza. According to a statement from the Civil Defense Directorate in Gaza, civilian defense personnel Ahmed Muhammed Hattab was killed in an attack on his home in the Sabra neighborhood in the south by Israel.
In another incident, a foreign worker died and five others were severely injured as Israel bombed a United Nations center in the central parts of the Gaza Strip. The targeted foreign workers were identified as staff of the United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS).
After the ceasefire that came into effect on January 19th in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army resumed its violent attacks. Following the Israeli army’s airstrikes on Gaza on the morning of March 18th, at least 400 people, mostly women and children, lost their lives, and over 500 Palestinians were injured. A statement from the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office stated that the attacks were initiated on the orders of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yisrael Katz.
Hamas declared that Israel had broken the ceasefire and announced that it would act “with increased military force” against Hamas. Hamas accused Israel of not honoring its promises and restarting genocide against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip by failing to fulfill its responsibilities in front of mediating countries. Families of Israeli captives in the Gaza Strip accused the Netanyahu government of “abandoning the prisoners” and stated that the government’s reasoning of restarting the war to bring back captives was “a complete deception.” Opposition parties in Israel also highlighted that the attacks resumed under the shadow of controversial political moves such as removing the Shin Bet Director of Internal Security.
