Israel to Keep Palestinian Prisoners Until Bodies Identified

The Palestinian Prisoners Society announced that Israel has postponed the release of 46 Palestinians in the 7th round of prisoner exchange until the identification of the bodies of Israeli prisoners who have been released. The Prisoners Media Office affiliated with Hamas also reported that the prisoners scheduled for release today are women and children.
Emani Serahine, Press Officer of the Palestinian Prisoners Society, stated that the Israeli authorities released “602 Palestinians” overnight. Serahine mentioned, “Israel has delayed the release of 46 Palestinian prisoners, including women and children, until the identification of the bodies of 4 prisoners received in the 7th round of prisoner exchange.”
HAMAS: 596 PEOPLE RELEASED Additionally, Nahid el-Fahuri, Director of the Prisoners Media Office affiliated with Hamas, shared that “The occupying Israel released 596 Palestinians in the first phase of the ceasefire agreement in the 7th round.” The Palestinian official mentioned, “The occupying Israel has postponed the release of 46 Palestinian prisoners until the identities of the four Israeli prisoners’ bodies received are confirmed.” Fahuri noted that Israel was expected to release 642 Palestinians in the 7th round, of which 151 had been sentenced to life imprisonment, 445 were detained in Gaza, and 46, including women and children expected to be released today. It was previously announced that the Palestinian prisoner whose release was suspended by Israel on February 22 would be released upon the delivery of the bodies of 4 Israeli prisoners.
ISRAEL HAD SUSPENDED PREVIOUSLY Hamas had released 6 Israeli prisoners held in the Gaza Strip as part of the seventh round of the prisoner exchange on February 22. Despite the release of Israeli prisoners by Hamas, Israel announced the suspension of the release of Palestinian prisoners. Hamas and Israel announced that the crisis had been resolved through negotiations with mediators.
