Israeli Government Calls Up 400,000 Reserve Soldiers

Following the completion of the first phase of the ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement in Gaza, signaling a potential new attack on Gaza, the Israeli government has approved a decision authorizing the call-up of 400,000 reserve soldiers for the Israeli army by May 29.
Israel’s Channel 12 television shared the text of the decision, stating, “The government approved this morning the possibility of calling up an additional 400,000 reserve soldiers to the army.” This decision grants the Israeli army the authority to mobilize 400,000 reserve soldiers if needed until May 29, 2025, following the expiration of the previous authorization to call up 320,000 reserve soldiers today.
ABILITY TO ISSUE MOBILIZATION CALL According to Channel 14 television, the Israeli government made this decision due to the possibility of launching attacks on Gaza, enabling them to issue a mobilization call for the 400,000 reserve soldiers. The report mentioned a recommendation advising the approval of the decision, stating, “2025 is expected to be a war year similar to 2024, with temporary ceasefires but instability in various regions.”
