Israeli Military Strikes South Beirut

The Israeli military has announced that airstrikes targeted the southern part of Lebanon’s capital, Beirut. According to Reuters and eyewitnesses, warplanes were seen flying low over Beirut early in the morning. Loud explosions were heard across the city, indicating that the airstrike hit the southern suburbs of Beirut. The Israeli military confirmed that targets belonging to Hezbollah in the south of Lebanon were hit. This marks the first attack on the southern suburbs of Beirut since the shaky ceasefire in November that ended the clashes between Israel and Hezbollah.
