Israeli Security Cabinet Convenes in Response to Hamas’ Hostage Warning

Following Hamas’ announcement to postpone the release of Israeli hostages due to Israel’s violation of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, the Israeli security cabinet has convened. The outcome of the meeting under the leadership of Netanyahu is awaited with anticipation.
After Palestinian resistance group Hamas declared the postponement of releasing Israeli hostages in Gaza Strip, the Israeli security cabinet gathered.
Hamas made this announcement in response to Israel’s breach of the ceasefire.
Israel’s delay of Palestinians’ return to northern Gaza, coupled with attacks throughout the region and hindering humanitarian aid access, shattered the ceasefire agreement.
The cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, is discussing matters related to the hostage agreement.
Ministers were expected to discuss Israel’s stance before negotiations on the second phase of the agreement, but following Hamas’ statement, the meeting is anticipated to focus on this latest development. Additionally, discussions are expected to address U.S. President Donald Trump’s suggestion to Israel that he may cancel the ceasefire if all hostages are not released by noon this coming Saturday.
EIGHT OUT OF SEVENTEEN HOSTAGES PERISHED
Israel revealed that eight out of the 17 hostages yet to be freed from Gaza have died at this stage of the ceasefire. The next release of three hostages was slated for next Saturday.
