Israel’s New Annexation Plan in Gaza: Evacuation Order Issued for Forced Migration

Following Israel’s violation of the ceasefire, attacks on Gaza continue. The Israeli army has issued an “evacuation order” for the forced migration of those in the north of Gaza to the south. It is indicated that ground operations in both the south and north of Gaza are ongoing. Approximately 600 people have lost their lives in the attacks that have been carried out since last Tuesday.

Israeli Army Spokesperson Avichay Adraee shared a new map on his social media account regarding the forced migration of Palestinians in the north of Gaza to the south. Adraee asked Palestinians in the north Gaza neighborhoods of Es-Salatin, El-Kerame, and El-Avde to leave these areas and move to southern regions.

90% OF PALESTINIANS DISPLACED AT LEAST ONCE

During the attacks that started on October 7, 2023 and continued until the ceasefire on January 19, 2025, the Israeli army also published maps containing instructions for Palestinians to migrate within Gaza. According to figures shared by the UN, approximately 90% of the 2.3 million Palestinians in Gaza had been displaced at least once due to the Israeli army’s attacks. After the ceasefire on January 19, the Israeli army began to launch intense attacks on the Gaza Strip on the morning of March 18. So far, nearly 600 Palestinians, mostly elderly, women, and children, have lost their lives in the renewed attacks, and about 1000 people have been injured.

DEFENSE MINISTER: ISRAEL TO ANNEX GAZA

The Israeli army threatened to annex certain areas of the Gaza Strip. Israeli Defense Minister Yizrael Katz stated, “I have ordered the army to capture more land in Gaza. As Hamas refuses to release hostages, we will lose more ground, and this land will be annexed by Israel.” Katz, who stated that Israel would occupy the region permanently, mentioned that buffer zones around Gaza would be expanded to protect Israeli civilians and soldiers. Promising to increase military and civilian pressure, Katz said: “We will intensify the fight by expanding air, sea, and ground bombardment as well as the ground operation.” He also mentioned that President Donald Trump’s plan to force Gazans into migration was included in this context.

HAS EGYPT BACKTRACKED ON THE EXILE?

According to reports in the Lebanese media, Egypt is ready to temporarily host half a million civilians who will be evacuated from Gaza. It was claimed that a city in the northern Sinai Peninsula would be allocated to Gaza residents. In early February, President Trump announced the controversial Gaza plan during a press conference in Washington with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu. The plan included sending Gazans to neighboring Arab countries like Egypt and Jordan and having the region controlled by the American army. In early March, Egypt announced a $53 billion alternative plan that focused on the reconstruction of Gaza without sending civilians, against Trump’s plan.
