Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz announced that they will occupy the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip by breaking the ceasefire on March 18 and expel all Palestinians. According to Yedioth Ahronot newspaper, during a visit to the “Morag Corridor” created to separate and divide the cities of Rafah and Khan Yunis in Gaza, Katz stated, “Large areas are being seized and added to Israel’s security zones, making Gaza smaller and more isolated.” Minister Katz also announced that the Israeli army will “take full control” of the area between the Morag Corridor and the Philadelphi Corridor on the border with Egypt, turning Rafah into a “buffer zone.” Katz claimed that they are taking steps to implement the plan to forcefully displace Palestinians in Gaza announced by US President Donald Trump in February.
