Minister Işıkhan stated that participants receive a monthly allowance of 22,104 TL, announcing that the allowance given to vocational high school graduates has been increased by 30% to 28,736 TL. Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan, through his social media account, revealed details about the allowance program, highlighting the privileges granted to vocational high school graduates in the “On-the-Job Training Programs” aimed at supporting employment. “We ensure that vocational high school graduates specializing in knowledge and experience through ‘Active Labor Programs,'” said Minister Işıkhan, elaborating on the subject. Işıkhan mentioned that participants in the On-the-Job Training Programs receive a monthly allowance of 22,104 TL, with vocational high school graduates receiving 30% more. Emphasizing that vocational high school graduates receive 28,736 TL, Işıkhan stated, “We will continue our work that shapes our policies according to the needs of our labor market in this field and financially supports our graduates.”

WHAT IS THE ON-THE-JOB TRAINING PROGRAM?

An on-the-job training program is organized to enable registered unemployed individuals to gain professional experience and enhance their employability through İŞKUR. Eligibility Criteria for Benefiting from On-the-Job Training Programs: Being registered as unemployed with İŞKUR, being at least 15 years old, not be a first or second-degree relative or a spouse of the employer, not being retired, not being insured under the tax number of the employer where the program will be organized in the year before the program start date, not having completed a course/program in the same profession arranged by the institution, no sanctions against participating in the program, benefiting from career and vocational counseling services. Moreover, a person can benefit from a vocational training course or an on-the-job training program twice at most, with a total limit of three participations across all courses and programs. The Duration of On-the-Job Training Programs can be planned to last a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 8 hours per day, not exceeding 6 days a week, not exceeding 45 hours per week. The duration of the program is a maximum of 6 months in IT and manufacturing sectors and a maximum of 3 months in other sectors. For young individuals aged 18-29 participating in on-the-job training programs in fields considered as modern and future professions, such as cybersecurity, cloud computing, game development experts, and coding, the program duration is implemented for a maximum of 9 months. In dangerous and very dangerous professions, programs are organized with minimum durations matching the MEB Lifelong Learning modules or university education modules, to last a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 8 hours per day, not exceeding 6 days a week, and planned to be maximum 45 hours per week and 240 days per day.
