Kremlin’s Comment on Trump: “Aligns with Our Vision”

Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitri Peskov, in an interview with the Russian media, stated that “the new administration in the U.S. is rapidly changing all foreign policy structures. This largely aligns with our vision.”
During the interview, Peskov discussed various topics, from potential cooperation with the U.S. to the possibility of a meeting between French President Emmanuel Macron and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Responding to a question about the possibility of cooperation with the U.S. on rare earth elements causing issues between the U.S. and Ukraine, Peskov alluded to the U.S. side’s stance of “solution on Ukraine first, then economics.”
Peskov emphasized the need to outline the main topics for collaboration, stating that “I believe that even now, we need to define the main topics for cooperation, but we shouldn’t expect quick results in this area.”
“ALIGNMENT IN FOREIGN POLICY” Peskov also mentioned the relationship between Putin and Donald Trump, saying: “Efforts are being made to initiate a dialogue now and improve all relations. There is still a long way ahead of us because great damage has been done to the entire spectrum of bilateral relations. However, if the political will of the two leaders persists, this path can be covered quite rapidly and successfully,” he added. Discussing the new foreign policy configurations of the U.S. administration, Peskov stated, “The new administration in the U.S. is rapidly changing all foreign policy structures. This largely aligns with our vision. Furthermore, we are voting on a UN General Assembly resolution containing completely balanced statements regarding the crisis in Ukraine. This would have been unthinkable before.”
POSSIBILITY OF MACRON-PUTIN MEETING Regarding the possibility of a meeting between French President Macron and Putin, Peskov commented, “Previously, he had expressed readiness to communicate with Putin. However, no real step has been taken in that direction. On the contrary, he has taken a position supporting the continuation of war in any form.” Peskov noted that the European stance will become clearer over time after contacts with the U.S. administration and the sudden dynamics emerging in Russia-U.S. relations.
