Last minute offer from Amazon: Looking to acquire TikTok

It has been reported that the American technology company Amazon has made an offer to acquire the China-based TikTok application.
As uncertainty continues about the future of TikTok in the United States, an offer has emerged from Amazon.
President Donald Trump stated that there is “intense interest” from American companies in acquiring TikTok, with the deadline set by him for a sale being April 5. According to The New York Times, an unnamed Amazon official mentioned that the company has moved to acquire TikTok before the deadline.
The official stated that Amazon has submitted an offer letter to Vice President J.D. Vance and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, expressing the company’s desire to acquire TikTok. President Donald Trump is expected to meet with officials this week to discuss the process.
The deadline for the sale of TikTok’s U.S. operations is approaching on April 5. The fate of the application will be determined by this date. Otherwise, the social media app may face the risk of being banned in the U.S. for national security reasons.
