Lava Flow Reported at Mount Etna Volcano in Italy

Reports in the Italian media indicate that a lava flow occurred at the active volcano Etna in southern Italy. It was reported that a strong lava flow originated from a crack on the southern slope of the “Bocca Nuova (New Mouth)” crater of Mount Etna, which reaches an altitude of approximately 3,300 meters on the island of Sicily yesterday evening. Intermittent ash emissions have also been observed in the volcano in recent days. Mount Etna, which holds the distinction of being the highest active volcano in continental Europe, experienced intense volcanic activity such as ash and lava eruption in the summer of 2024.
