Lizard found in school meal: 65 students poisoned

In an elementary school in the Chhattisgarh state of India, 65 students were hospitalized after being poisoned by a dead lizard found in their lunch. An investigation has been launched into the incident. According to reports in the national media, a student at the Gajadharpur Turripani Elementary School noticed a dead lizard on his plate during lunch. Officials immediately instructed all students to stop eating. 65 students who had eaten from the meal reported symptoms of nausea, stomach pain, and vomiting. All the affected students were taken to the hospital in the Balrampur-Ramanujganj region. Some of the students who received treatment have been discharged. Authorities announced the initiation of an investigation to determine how the lizard entered the elementary school’s lunch.
