Instagram, one of the world’s most popular social media platforms, has added new tools to its messaging system (DM) such as translation, music sharing, message scheduling, and pinning.

Instagram has made significant improvements to the direct messages section.

Meta, aiming to compete with applications like Apple iMessage, announced that the new features will be available on devices using iOS and Android operating systems, while they will be introduced to the web (computer) side later. Messages can Now be Scheduled and Pinned
One of the key innovations introduced by Instagram is message scheduling. Users can now schedule prepared messages to be sent at a desired time within the next 29 days. Users can also pin any messages they want to the top of the chat screen. This way, they can easily see and remember important messages in their conversations. The company emphasized that for now, only 3 messages per chat can be pinned.

Translation in 99 Languages
Instagram aims to eliminate the language barrier among its users. With the new tool added, messages written in 99 different languages in the DM section can now be translated into the desired language with a single touch. Meta believes that this feature will allow people from different places and cultures around the world to meet and chat quickly.

Share Your Favorite Songs via Messages
The most intriguing innovation introduced by Instagram is the music sharing tool. Users can now share 30-second previews of songs available in the Instagram music library in one-on-one or group chats. The music sharing feature may attract young users who discover new music through social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram. In addition to friends sharing their favorite music with each other, this feature can also help artists reach new fans and followers.

Popular artists JENNIE and Doechii will be testing the music sharing feature on their own Instagram broadcast channels.

Invitation with QR Code
Instagram announced that users can now invite their friends to group chats using QR codes. By selecting the QR code from the invitation link in the chat section, it can be shared directly with the person or saved to the gallery for later use.
