Maternity Aid of 5,000 Lira for Mothers

In 2025 and onwards, a maternity aid of 5,000 TL will be provided for children born this year for 60 months.

The maternity aid for children born under the 2025 Family Year has been officially established.

In order to increase the declining youth population rate in Turkey, maternity aid will be provided for children born on and after January 1, 2025.

A one-time payment of 5,000 TL will be given for the first child, 1,500 TL monthly until the child reaches the age of 5 (including the sixtieth month) for the second child starting from the month of application, and 5,000 TL monthly until the child reaches the age of 5 (including the sixtieth month) for the third and subsequent children starting from the month of application.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will be authorized to increase the amounts. Payments will be made from the Social Solidarity and Support Fund. Maternity aid will be paid without subjecting it to any taxes or deductions and will not be subject to seizure. In case of unjustified payments due to false declarations by those benefiting from maternity aid, the repayment will be calculated with interest at the delayed payment rate specified in Article 51 of Law No. 6183 from the date of payment to the date of recovery within one month, and it will be notified to the entity making the unwarranted payment with a written notice. In case of non-payment within this period, these debts will be reported to the relevant tax office and pursued and collected in accordance with the provisions of the said Law.

HOW TO APPLY FOR MATERNITY AID? Maternity Aid applications are made in person, by registered mail with return receipt requested, or by cargo after the child’s registration process in the Individual Identification System (KPS) at the relevant population directorate following a live birth and the complete filling and signing of the “Maternity Aid Application Letter.” Applications are made to the Provincial Directorates of Family and Social Services or Social Service Centers, regardless of status (including those employed through service procurement) by personnel employed in public institutions and organizations. Applications of individuals residing abroad are accepted by Embassies and Consulates. If individuals residing abroad are in Turkey, they can also apply to any Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services or Social Service Center.
