Measures extended in Greek islands due to seismic activity

In Greece, it has been decided to extend the measures taken in the islands affected by the seismic activity in the Aegean Sea in recent days. According to reports in the Greek media, the Seismic Risk Assessment Committee has decided to extend the measures taken in the islands affected by the seismic activity. Following the meeting, seismologist Kostas Papazahos called on citizens to strictly adhere to the measures taken. He emphasized that measures such as avoiding crowded indoor spaces, choosing safe routes for island residents, and not using certain ports in Santorini are still in place. Papazahos stated that the decision was made to extend the break given to education in Santorini, Yumurgi, Niyoz, and Anafiya islands until February 14th. Papazahos mentioned that since February 1st, more than 1100 earthquakes above 3.0 magnitude have occurred near Santorini, but no issues have been observed in inspected structures.
