Melting ice in the Ural Mountains floods neighborhoods

In the Chelyabinsk region of Russia’s Ural Mountains, the melting ice has caused residential areas to be submerged underwater. Authorities evacuated 275 people, including 68 children. Flooding occurred as the rivers overflowed due to the rising water levels. The town of Asha was submerged. The Ministry of Emergency Situations stated that 275 people, including 68 children, were evacuated. The Russian Ministry of Defense intervened to prevent floodings in the Sim River. The ice in the river was detonated by teams.
