The North Korean Ministry of Defense targeted the air exercise conducted by the US and South Korea in the region. The exercise was deemed “a serious provocation”, with a warning that “North Korea will utilize its overwhelming deterrent and make the US understand that deploying strategic assets in the region is an unnecessary show of force”.

A strong reaction came from North Korea to the joint air exercise carried out by the US and South Korea over the Korean Peninsula on April 15th.

In a statement from the North Korean Ministry of Defense, it was reminded that US B-1B strategic bomber aircraft also participated in the exercise done under the pretext of “expanded deterrence”, stating that “the US has repeatedly displayed its confrontational attitude and will towards our country through flashy military actions”.

The joint air exercise of the US and South Korea was argued to be “an open threat to the security of North Korea” and “a serious provocation that escalates military tensions in the region to a very dangerous level”. The statement also mentioned that “the US has renewed its record of deploying nuclear submarines, strategic bombers, aircraft carriers, and other strategic assets to the Korean Peninsula in recent times”.

WARNING FROM PYONGYANG TO THE US

The statement pointed out that deploying strategic military assets to the Korean Peninsula has become a routine practice for the US, stating that “This is also the process of increasing skills aimed at attacking our country and completing preparations to take action”.

It emphasized that the military moves of the Washington administration pose a security risk, warning strongly that “the US should be aware that its bluff-like military actions, which constitute a serious threat to our sovereignty and regional security, will have serious negative consequences for its own security”.

“WE WILL DETER AGGRESSIVE MOVES OF THE US”

The North Korean Ministry of Defense called on the US to stop its dangerous military moves, warning that “North Korea will use its overwhelming deterrent and make the US understand that deploying strategic assets in the region is an unnecessary show of force”.

It was emphasized that North Korea will not tolerate even the slightest security threat from the US, stating that “we will decisively deter the aggressive attempts of the US to permanently destabilize regional security”. US AND SOUTH KOREA’S JOINT EXERCISE

On April 15th, warplanes from the US and South Korea conducted a joint flight exercise over the Korean Peninsula.

The exercise, aimed at demonstrating expanded deterrent capabilities against North Korea, reportedly included US B-1B strategic bomber aircraft.

Most recently, it was reported that a joint air exercise named Flag of Freedom involving 1,100 soldiers and 90 aircraft from the US and South Korea began today and will continue until May 2nd.
