Meta’s CTO Bosworth: Those Displeased Should Resign!

Andrew Bosworth, Meta’s CTO, stated that employees who are not pleased with the company’s DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) program should resign.
This statement comes after some employees within Meta criticized the company’s new policy and silencing of internal dissent. Responding strongly to the backlash, Bosworth emphasized that leaking information to the media due to internal disagreements is unacceptable and suggested that employees with such thoughts should consider working elsewhere.
Layoffs Spark Backlash Recently, Meta began laying off underperforming employees which led to tension within the company. Bosworth expressed that workers who do not approve of the decisions should not continue working at Meta. Meta’s new policies include significant changes such as discontinuing DEI programs and loosening moderation standards. According to Statista, the technology giant with over 76,000 employees has only 3.9% Black and 4.3% Hispanic employees in America. Post-election stance changed In 2019, Facebook announced a goal to have half of its employees from diverse or underrepresented groups within five years. Mark Zuckerberg stood out in Silicon Valley with his stance at that time. The company, working in this context, had doubled the number of Black and Hispanic employees in the U.S. within three years. One-third of its global workforce consisted of women. Everything changed after January 10, 2025. Meta announced that it was abandoning its diversity goals and completely disengaging from corporate inclusion efforts. This directive came directly from Mark Zuckerberg.
