Mexico Deported 11 Thousand Migrants to Mexico Since January 20

Mexican leader Sheinbaum stated that United States President Trump has deported approximately 11 thousand migrants to Mexico since he took office on January 20.
The crisis related to the migration issue, which is one of the most controversial topics of the Donald Trump era in the United States, continues.
Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum mentioned that approximately 11 thousand migrants have been deported to Mexico since United States President Donald Trump took office on January 20. She noted that this number includes about 2,500 non-Mexicans.
Sheinbaum reached an agreement with Trump earlier this week to halt the threatening customs tariffs on Mexican goods in exchange for deploying thousands of National Guard officers to the country’s northern border to further reduce the flow of migration into the United States.
Speaking at her daily press conference earlier this week, Sheinbaum explained that Mexico has not only deported migrants through land transportation but also by air back to Honduras. She emphasized that these returns are not forced.
The President emphasized, “This is based on voluntary assistance. We will accompany them so they can go back to their own countries.”
