Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat stated today that millions of citizens continue to shop without heeding boycott calls, saying, “In this way, they supported their merchants, trade, Turkey, and its economy, thus also supporting production and employment.”

Minister Bolat, in a post on his social media account, thanked the rational, patriotic citizens who continue to shop despite boycott calls, and who support the national economy, domestic and national brands, production, and trade. Bolat indicated that as the government, under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, they will continue to work tirelessly and without faltering. He noted, “Today is the day after Ramadan Bayram and a holiday period, yet millions of our citizens continue to shop without giving in to destructive and disruptive boycott calls.

In doing so, they supported their merchants, trade, Turkey, and its economy, thus also supporting production and employment. We thank the citizens, as well as the boards of trade and commerce chambers, and business associations for their active support in this struggle.

We thank our people, merchants, and trade professionals for displaying the most beautiful example of national unity, solidarity, and cooperation. We will make the Century of Turkey the century of trade. Together, we are a strong and great Turkey.”
