Minister Şimşek: The impact of market fluctuations will remain limited

Minister of Treasury and Finance, Mehmet Şimşek, stated that the impact of recent market fluctuations on inflation will be limited due to tightening financial conditions.
The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) announced the inflation figures for March. Inflation rose by 2.46 percent on a monthly basis in March. The annual inflation rate dropped to 38.10 percent. Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek made a social media post regarding the inflation figures for March.
“WE EXPECT THE EFFECT OF FLUCTUATIONS TO BE LIMITED” Minister Şimşek emphasized that the annual inflation has been decreasing for 10 months. Minister Şimşek stated that they expect the impact of recent market fluctuations on inflation to remain limited due to tightening financial conditions and said, “We will continue to use all our policy tools in strong coordination to achieve our price stability goal.”
