Narrowly Escaped Injury in the Accident: “Seatbelt Saved Me”

In Antalya, two cars collided at an intersection, resulting in both vehicles getting totaled, and 1 of the 3 persons trapped in the cars suffered severe injuries. A young man in one of the cars involved in the accident, who escaped uninjured, attributed his safety to the seatbelt he was wearing at the time of the crash. The incident occurred around 13.00 at the Termessos intersection on the Antalya-Denizli road in the Döşemealtı district. According to reports, the Nissan van with plate number 07 V 4499, driven by Eren Ö. (25) heading towards Korkuteli, collided with the Fiat vehicle with plate number 07 MJS 41, driven by Halil B., as it suddenly appeared at the Termessos Intersection. The impact caused the Fiat car with plate number 07 MJS 41 to hit the barriers by the road while the Nissan van with plate number 07 V 4499 managed to stop after hitting the directional pole in the median. Witnesses to the accident immediately reported to the 112 Emergency Call Center, leading to the dispatch of fire, police, and medical teams to the scene. Firefighters and medical teams quickly arrived at the scene and rescued the drivers Halil B. and Eren Ö. from their respective vehicles. Eren Ö., Halil B., and Fadime B. received first aid at the scene and were later transported to the hospital by ambulances. Ramazan Berkay Özışık, who was in the Nissan van with plate number 07 V 4499 at the time of the accident and escaped injury, mentioned, “The other car suddenly came in front of us, we couldn’t avoid the collision. One person in the other car was severely injured. Our driver only had a minor arm injury. I am perfectly fine, the seatbelt saved me.”
