NASA astronauts trapped in space: Rescue launch delayed

The launch of the team that will replace the two NASA astronauts trapped in space has been postponed. The astronauts have been stranded in space for about 10 months. The launch of the four-person team that will take the place of the two astronauts stranded at the International Space Station (ISS) by the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) was postponed due to a technical issue. A technical problem occurred at the launch site of the SpaceX rocket that will carry the team to space to replace NASA astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore, who are stranded in space. SpaceX announced that the launch planned from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center was postponed due to the issue. The NASA astronauts trapped in spaceWilliams and Wilmore were sent to the ISS on June 5, 2024, for a week-long test flight with Boeing’s new Starliner capsule. However, due to a technical problem with the Starliner, the return date of the two astronauts was postponed, and NASA issued a directive for the capsule to return empty. With the delay in the launch date of SpaceX’s backup capsule taking over the mission, it is estimated that their return to Earth may not be possible until late March or early April, extending their stay at the space station to approximately 10 months.
