NASA’s “Solar Probe” Breaks Record Again

Repeating the record it set in December 2024, the Parker Solar Probe approached the surface of the Sun to a distance of 6.1 million kilometers once more. The NASA’s “Parker Solar Probe” repeated the record it set in December 2024 by approaching the Sun’s surface to a distance of only 6.1 million kilometers. This distance has now been recorded as the closest point any man-made object has ever reached to the Sun. During this time, the probe reached the highest speed ever reached by a man-made object, moving at about 192 kilometers per hour. Both records were initially broken by Parker on December 24, 2024. This success was repeated on March 22, 2025. Experts pointed out that the special heat shield resistant to extreme temperatures was the most crucial factor that allowed Parker to successfully complete this mission. In a statement made by NASA, it was stated that “The spacecraft communicated with the mission control center at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory on Tuesday, March 25. The signals sent showed that the probe’s health is good and its systems are working normally.”
