Negative trend in Borsa Istanbul

In Borsa Istanbul, the BIST 100 index lost 0.71 percent and dropped to 9,409 points in the first half of the day.
Moving in a downward trend in the first half of the day, the BIST 100 index fell to 9,409 points with a decrease of 67.67 points and 0.71 percent as of 1:00 pm compared to the previous close. The total trading volume was 35.4 billion Turkish lira. The banking index lost 1.2 percent, while the holding index lost 0.4 percent. Among the sector indices, the highest gainer was financial leasing factoring with 2.72 percent, while the biggest loser was securities investment trust with 1.98 percent. In the global markets, uncertainties increased about the course of the economic tension between the two countries after the recent tariff moves by the US administration on China. Investor focus is on tariff news flow and the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting minutes of the Federal Reserve (Fed) to be announced today. Analysts noted that the domestic data agenda is calm today, while wholesale stock data in the US and Fed meeting minutes will be monitored internationally. From a technical standpoint, it was stated that 9,350 and 9,250 points are support levels, while 9,500 and 9,600 levels are resistance levels in the BIST 100 index.
