Netanyahu Defends Son Who Insulted Macron

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu defended his son’s insulting remarks to French President Emmanuel Macron, who had stated the possibility of recognizing the Palestinian state. Netanyahu, in a post on his account, expressed the unacceptable nature of his son Yair’s insult to Macron, but highlighted him as a “real Zionist” caring about the future of his country. Netanyahu stated that although every citizen has the right to express their personal opinions, he found the style of response given to Macron’s tweet calling for the establishment of the Palestinian state unacceptable. Netanyahu expressed his disagreement with Macron’s statement about recognizing the Palestinian state, calling it a mistake to continue support for the idea of a Palestinian state whose sole goal is Israel’s destruction within the country. Netanyahu claimed that the establishment of a Palestinian state was “detached dreams from reality.” He hinted at France’s colonies like Yair by saying, “We will not risk our existence and will not accept moral sermons from those who oppose independence for territories like Corsica, New Caledonia, French Guiana, which will not pose any threat to France.” Yair Netanyahu Insulted Macron

Yair Netanyahu insulted French President Emmanuel Macron with the words “Go to hell!” in a post where he insulted Macron, who announced the possibility of recognizing the Palestinian state. Yair included statements such as “Yes to the independence of New Caledonia! Yes to the independence of French Polynesia! Yes to the independence of Corsica! Yes to the independence of Basque Country! Yes to the independence of French Guinea!” in his post where he insulted the French President. Macron’s Message on Recognizing the Palestinian State

French President Macron, in an interview with the France 5 channel following a two-day visit to Egypt, stated, “We should move towards recognizing (Palestine) and we may achieve this in the coming months.” Macron mentioned that they aimed to finalize the issue of recognizing Palestine in an international conference to be held for a two-state solution in collaboration with Saudi Arabia. Israel, which does not approach the two-state solution and continues its occupation in Palestinian territories, reacted to Macron’s statement about the possibility of recognizing the Palestinian state in the future. Following Israel’s launch of attacks on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, the number of countries recognizing Palestine reached 146, with decisions by countries such as Spain, Norway, Ireland, Slovenia, Armenia, Bahamas, Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica, and Barbados.
