Netanyahu’s Son Insults Macron: “Go to Hell”

Yair Netanyahu, the son of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, insulted French President Emmanuel Macron. Macron had recently announced that they could recognize the state of Palestine.
Yair Netanyahu used strong language against French President Emmanuel Macron in a post on his X account. Quoting Macron’s announcement of supporting the legitimate rights of Palestinians to have a state, Yair insulted Macron with the expression “Go to hell!” Yair also used the phrase “Yes to the independence of New Caledonia! Yes to the independence of French Polynesia! Yes to the independence of Corsica! Yes to the independence of the Basque Country! Yes to the independence of French Guinea!” in his post where he insulted the French President. Yair Netanyahu has been in the spotlight for his insulting posts on social media before. Yair had claimed on his social media account during the campaign season of the 2020 general elections that opposition leader Benny Gantz was involved in an “inappropriate relationship” with an activist from the alliance he led. An Israeli court had ruled that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s son Yair had to pay approximately $34,000 in damages for the offense and slander due to the aforementioned claim. Last year in March, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu had restricted his son Yair’s use of social media.
MACRON’S MESSAGE ABOUT THE STATE OF PALESTINE French President Macron, in an interview with the France 5 channel after a 2-day visit to Egypt, used the words “We must progress towards recognizing Palestine, and we could reach that in the coming months.” Macron had stated that they aimed to conclude the issue of recognizing Palestine at an international conference on the two-state solution they would co-chair with Saudi Arabia.
TWO-STATE SOLUTION AND RECOGNITION OF PALESTINE Israel, which does not approach the two-state solution and continues its occupation in Palestinian territories, had reacted to Macron’s announcement that they could recognize the state of Palestine in the coming months. After Israel started its attacks on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, the number of countries recognizing Palestine had reached 146 with decisions made by countries such as Spain, Norway, Ireland, Slovenia, Armenia, Bahamas, Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica, and Barbados.
