New Era in Electricity Bills

With the tariff that came into effect on February 1st, those with an annual electricity consumption exceeding 5,000 kilowatt hours cannot receive state support. However, patients living at home with electric devices due to health problems will be exempt from the new tariff.
According to the new tariff in electricity bills, consumers exceeding 417 kilowatt hours per month will not receive state support. Approximately 97% of electricity subscribers will not be affected by this regulation. Out of about 42 million electricity subscribers, 40 million will not see any changes in their bills. Mosques, cemeteries, families of martyrs, veterans, agricultural activities, village drinking water supplies, AFAD’s temporary shelters, associations, and subscribers with health problems due to device dependency are exempt from the regulation.
EXEMPT CATEGORIES
Patients dependent on a device due to health issues will be exempt from the new electricity tariff. Subscribers with patients dependent on devices at home will not be affected by the regulation if they present a valid health report to the electricity distribution company to which they are connected. The limit for patients dependent on devices under the last-resort supply tariff will continue to be applied as 100 million kilowatt hours annually as before.
REMINDER 20 DAYS IN ADVANCE
Electric Distribution Companies will remind subscribers with health issues benefiting from this exception to renew their health reports 20 days before the report expires. In the case of planned power outages, these consumers will be informed by the electricity distribution companies.
