New offer for Gaza: Reported by Israeli media

According to reports from the Israeli media, Egypt has presented a new offer to Israel and Hamas for a ceasefire in Gaza.
It has been stated that Egypt, one of the mediators in the ceasefire negotiations in the Gaza Strip, has put forward a new offer for a ceasefire with Israel and Hamas.
In a report by the Israeli state television channel KAN, it was mentioned that Egypt has revised the ceasefire proposal that was previously suggested with Qatar last week, accepted by Hamas but rejected by Israel, and presented it to the parties.
While details of the new ceasefire offer were not disclosed in the report, it was pointed out that the offer falls somewhere between the proposal that included the release of 5 Israeli prisoners presented by the mediators last week and Israel’s demand for the release of 11 prisoners in exchange for a mere 40-day ceasefire.
There has been no statement made regarding the new ceasefire offer that has been reportedly presented to the parties by Egypt.
Israel, which rejected the ceasefire offer proposed by Egypt and Qatar last week, had announced on April 2 that it had escalated its attacks on the Gaza Strip again after breaking the ceasefire.
ATTACKS RESUMED
The Israeli army resumed its severe attacks in the Gaza Strip on the morning of March 18 following the ceasefire that came into effect on January 19. In the new attacks, 1,249 Palestinians lost their lives, with the majority being elderly, women, and children, while 3,022 people were injured.
In the attacks launched by Israel on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, the number of Palestinians who lost their lives has risen to 50,609, with 115,063 injured.
Israel, which broke the ceasefire, declared that it would act against Hamas with “increasing military power” for rejecting the new ceasefire proposals. In response, Hamas stated that “Israel has not kept its promises and has restarted genocide against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip by failing to fulfill its responsibilities in front of the mediator countries regarding the ceasefire.”
The Israeli attacks on Gaza, beginning under the shadow of controversial political steps such as the dismissal of the head of the internal intelligence agency Shin Bet by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, drew attention.
